S & S Directional Drilling uses one of four different bore rigs based on the size and length of bore you require, with capabilities from 4” to 30” in diameter in all types of soil conditions.

We employ a Ditch Witch JT 520, which provides a 2” conduit installation without a back reamer, or a 4” conduit with a reamer. This machine can bore at lengths of 150 feet or more.

Our Ditch Witch JT 2020, with its 20,000 lbs. of pullback force, can install 6” conduits at up to 500 feet, while also having the ability to install up to 12” conduits or multiple conduits per bore at shorter distances.

For larger jobs we employ a powerful Ditch Witch 3020, which uses 30,000 lbs. of pullback force to bore up to 30” holes. We have pulled 12-4” schedule 40 conduits through a 30” bore at 500 lineal feet using this machine.

The versatility and low profile of our Vermeer 24x40 allows us to perform powerful bores using a smaller machine. The 24x40 uses 24,000 lbs of thrust/pullback force coupled with 4200 ft-lb rotational torque to provide a wide range of boring options.

We use Subsite locators in order to locate existing utilities such as cables, pipes, and conduits on the drill site, and also to ensure the accuracy of our bore. Site maintenance and cleanup is guaranteed by our 800-gallon Ring-O-Matic vacuum mud disposal system.
